This 1977 Italycar Ferrarina is a 1/2 scale children’s car modeled after the Ferrari 312T2 driven by Niki Lauda during the 1976 Formula 1 season. Built by the Bologna, Italy firm Italycar, the car features a 60cc two-stroke single-cylinder engine mated to a two-speed gearbox. The fiberglass body is mounted over a tubular space-frame, and other equipment includes an electric starter, disc brakes, and adjustable suspension. Described as unrestored, this 1/2 scale 312T2 was acquired by the seller three years ago and is now offered with original paperwork, factory literature, and a Florida bill of sale.
The fiberglass bodywork was built to resemble the 312T2 driven by Niki Lauda and features period-style livery over the red and white paintwork. The car measures approximately 106.5″ long, 51″ wide, and 26.75″ tall. A run of 100 working models was initially planned, though the seller states that this is one of only twelve examples actually built.
Alloy wheels measure 6″ in diameter up front and 11.5″ out back and wear period Goodyear-branded rubber. Hydraulic disc brakes are equipped all around, and are fitted with functional air scoops at each wheel. The independent suspension features adjustable sway bars and rear coilover shocks.
The cockpit features a fixed seat clad in black leather. Equipment includes period harnesses, a MOMO steering wheel with an engine start switch, and a right-hand shifter. Veglia instrumentation consists of a 12k-rpm tachometer and gauges for coolant temperature and voltage.
Power comes from a BCB 60cc two-stroke single-cylinder mounted amidships, and drive is sent to the rear wheels via a two-speed transmission featuring a reverse gear. The engine reportedly allows the car to reach a top speed of 37 mph per factory literature. An electric starter is fitted. The car has not been started or driven during current ownership.
A bill of sale from Italycar USA Inc. of Greensboro, North Carolina shows the original sale price of $6,678. Factory literature including manuals and component diagrams will go with the car.https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1977-ferrarina-italycar-312t/
