Sachs was the largest manufacturer of 2-stroke engines in Europe during the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Hercules was one of the most important users of them. In the late 1950s Hercules was absorbed by the Sachs group and Hercules were sold under the Sachs or DKW brand in some countries, Australia for instance, and as Kieft in the UK
